F4 Tornado - Go behind the scenes on May 4th 2003 as a major tornado develops in the heart of Kansas City. In this video, you can hear communication between chasers, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the National Weather Service. Most people never get the chance to hear what goes on behind the scenes to issue a tornado warning. This video is a great example of effective communication to pass warnings along increasing our odds of protecting life and property. The alarms in the background are from the MWCS1.2 software which alerts the user of dangerous storm attributes and weather warnings.
The StormSector helmet chase cam! - A storm chaser tests his helmet cam system built to assist in recording severe weather events. The convoy stops when they encounter a hail event in order to prevent window damage since larger hail was being reported close to their location.
